We offer a range of cosmetic dental procedures that offer different solutions to your issues. You can discuss any of these procedures in a consultation which can be booked directly with our reception team. Please note there is a £25 charge for initial consultations.
If you have a damaged, week or mis-shapen tooth we can correct this with a crown. A crown is a tooth shaped cap which is placed over the tooth to improve its shape, size, strength, or appearance. Crowns can be made of metal, porcelain fused to metal, resin or ceramic and most crowns will last up to 15 years.
If you have spaces where teeth have been extracted a fixed (permanent) bridge replaces one or more teeth by placing crowns on the teeth either side of the gap, and attaching artificial teeth to them. The “bridge” is then cemented into place.
If you would like to improve the appearance of your teeth then veneers may be a solution. Custom-made to fit your teeth these wafer thin shells cover the front surface of the tooth. Made from porcelain or resin composite the veneer is bonded to the front of the teeth, changing their colour, shape, size or length.
Cosmetic White Fillings
Over time existing fillings sometimes need to be replaced due to wear, chipping, or cracking. Many people use this opportunity to replace their silver amalgam fillings with natural, tooth-coloured composites.
Today, tooth whitening has become the most popular elective procedure in dentistry, as is a simple non invasive approach to cosmetically enhancing your appearance.
Tooth discolouration is mainly attributed to the effects of ageing, colouring in food and drink, dental restorations, medicinal use, fluorosis (excessive levels of fluoride intake at an early age) and the use of tobacco.
Tooth whitening uses a gel applied to your teeth containing a peroxide agent, this is the whitening agent and is absorbed by your enamel and dentine producing lighter, whiter tooth tissue.
Root canal treatment is the last opportunity to save a tooth. A good quality root canal filling is the foundation for all successful fillings, crowns and bridges. As we want to keep our teeth for longer, to be able to eat correctly and to have a healthy good looking smile, a high quality root canal filling is what will allow you to do this and should be deemed the most important aspect of restoring a tooth.
